We’re getting married! Basic info below…

A quick (and first!) update with some of the basic important info! Aside from the invitations themselves, we will be doing most of our updating via this website :) That means that you should bookmark this and check back when you have any questions! We have decided to get married in Reno, Nevada as my parents have been so nice as to allow us the use of their property for the wedding. Both the ceremony and the reception will be at Michel and Kristina Houseman’s house. We have updated this website with the wedding party, information about our registries, a map of the ceremony/reception, and info about the bash!

But, you might still have questions. And that’s okay! I have answers… or I will. Below are some questions I think some might be wondering.

Q: I will be flying to your wedding. Where should I/can I stay?

A: When the wedding is a bit closer we will obtain a block of rooms at 1-2 casinos in town. At least one of them will be family-friendly with stuff for kids to do, just in case you have little ones, and both will offer a wide range of rooms.

Q: What should I wear to the ceremony and the reception?

A: Both the ceremony and the reception are summer-dress semi-formal. Basically, dress nice for a summer day in Nevada as the reception will be both indoors and outdoors. It can get hot later in the day in Reno! Mornings and early afternoons are usually not as bad. We are having beer and barbecue after all, so don’t dress for black tie! :)

Q: If we arrive in Reno early, will you be there?

A: Most likely. We plan on arriving in Reno 2-3 days before the wedding, but we’ll be busy preparing for it! Of course we will try and make time to see you before the wedding if you want to hang out with us instead of exploring Reno, but we can’t promise anything 😉

Q: What else is there to do in Reno?

A: Good question, and it depends on what you like to do. There are a ton of casinos, if gambling is your thing. If you want a nice dinner, we particularly like the restaurants at the Grand Sierra Resort and at Eldorado. In fact, Grand Sierra Resort has a lot to do, from a movie theater, bowling, and an arcade to dancing and lounging at the pool (and the pool has real sand! It’s really cool!) If you like the outdoors, Lake Tahoe is about 30 minutes away from Reno, and they offer anything from hiking to boat rentals and cruises. If you feel like shopping, there is 1 indoor mall in Reno and 2 outdoor malls. The Truckee river also runs right through Reno just south of downtown. There are swimming areas there, and a nice riverwalk area with bars and restaurants.

Q: I have a dietary need! I’m allergic to gluten/nuts/milk! I’m a vegetarian!

A: Please let us know! We will do our best to accommodate you :) There should be something there for most common food problems already, anyway.

Q: I have some other burning question to ask you!

A: That’s what the contact page is for! Send us an email! You can also call Ryan or myself leading up to the wedding, if you’d prefer.

We look forward to seeing as many of you in June as possible. <3
